A screw conveyor moves bulk materials using a rotating helical screw (auger) inside a trough or tube. As the screw turns, the flights push the material forward, converting rotational motion into linear motion, much like a simple screw mechanism. This process is efficient for moving powders, grains, and other semi-solid materials from an inlet to a discharge point.
