A bucket elevator works by using a continuously moving belt or chain with buckets attached to it to lift materials vertically. Materials are fed into buckets at the bottom, which then travel up the elevator. At the top, the buckets tip over, discharging the material into a chute for further transport or processing. The empty buckets then descend to repeat the cycle.
