A spout magnet uses a powerful magnetic field to pull ferrous metal contaminants out of a flow of material, such as powder, granules, as it passes through a chute or spout. The material flows around the magnetic element, and the attracted iron particles are captured on the magnet's surface, effectively separating them from the non-magnetic product. To clean the magnet, the housing is opened, and the trapped metal is manually removed.
